How I started to paint. Pt 2
I moved to Bay Area from NYC in 2015 as I got a new corporate job. I was amazed by the nature, ocean, redwoods, hills, and mountains of the Bay Area. Having all of this luxury beauty of nature within just 20 minutes to an hour's drive made me realize I made the right decision.
Nature always inspired me. Even though I lived in Brooklyn, NY for over 12 years I was always traveling. And my latest travel trips were becoming more simple as I was craving a total disconnect from bustling city life (even though it was so amazing, and contributed to my personal growth so much as I also met incredible people all around the world in NYC).
I was going to remote parts of Colombia, Brazil, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua. Somewhere where I can unplug from the city and be one with Nature.
I found this perfect getaway in Bay Area. All the recharging forces of Mother Earth were so close, that I could reach an ocean in less than an hour.
My timeline shifted. My energy shifted as I immersed myself in the creative powers that Nature gives me. And I began to paint again a lot. Nonstop. After work. I was just buying canvases and paints, and it was the most joyful process of all.
I’d go surfing and then I come to paint. I am recharged by the power of the ocean, its ability to cleanse and take away all negativity and stress. And of course add a natural high and immense joy from surfing and catching a wave.
I’d go hike, see and absorb all the beauty around and later I’d be drawn to make art.
And I just kept pouring it all on the canvas…
