How I started to paint. Pt 1
I never been into arts. I was not even an art admirer and only knew the big names like Dali, Picasso, Chagall etc. I’ve seen some of their works but was not even a fan nor did I ever inquire deeper into any of their artworks. I‘d say I was not into arts at all. It was not relevant to my life back then.
Just before moving to CA in 2015 I started to paint. I never showed these first works to anyone. And I was silly enough to just give away those few paintings before my move. Consider I threw them away … Because I thought it was a temporary thing for me and I don’t need to worry about moving these pieces from NY to CA cuz what I was painting seemed like blah to me (blah to me but not so to many others as I learned later).
I’ve been told once by a psychic medium in NYC I met years ago that I will be painting.
He randomly approached me at the spiritual event. I was not looking for any psychics. I was just there with my friend for a meditation experience. He approached me and told me this “I know what’s in your heart”. I was puzzled. We ended up chatting more cuz I was always interested in the things that are more than just our material life.
After few more times we talked (it was actually me asking him more of philosophical questions aka what is life, soul, what happens when we die, what spirits are etc).
And then he randomly told me that I will be painting. I literally laughed at his words. I was like “I can’t even paint a tree or a sun, and I am truly the one person who is really far away from any type of art”. He said “we’ll, will see”.
Few years forward I found myself at the art store. That same medium and I somehow got connected again. He helped me to get in the store and just gave me a gentle push to buy few small canvases, brushes, and some primary colors.
I came home and stared at the blank canvas. For like 5 minutes. I was thinking “why I even listened to him and just threw away my money on these art supplies”.
10 minutes later on after my blank stare I finally decided to just fool around with these paints. And the saying goes “the rest is history”…..
I will share more in the next post ….
