Aztecs Dance - A channeled painting

My newest painting “Aztecs Dance” found its connection to the Solstice Dance of Aztecs.

The brush itself created these figures, colors, and shapes.

As I stepped back and looked at the third eye that appeared in the middle I got a sense of connection to an ancient civilization. I’ve visited Tulum, Mexico a few years ago, it’s sacred pyramids and other places of power.

I’ve always been drawn to the mysterious part of our history, the creation of the world, and reflecting on how our ancestors have lived before us and what messages they had for us.

After this piece was complete, my friend pointed out that it reminded her of Mexican tribal dance. And as I googled it, sure I found a photo of Summer Soltice dance celebration in Mexico with almost the same color pattern that mysterious force lead me to paint this work and share a piece of ancient history with mt viewers.

Few days before I also visited De Young Museum here in SF and by signing up for a free tour guide I was lead to see a few pieces of Mexican home ornaments. I was able to find more similarities with my recently channeled art work.

24” x 48”. Acrylic on canvas.
